Maha Powerex MH-C 9000 Wizard One Battery Charger and Analyzer
The Maha Powerex MH-C9000 WizardOne Battery Charger & Analyzer for AA and AAA batteries. Universally acknowledged on forums such as CPF and in reviews as one of the best if not the best AA charger, we tested it ourselves (results in our news section) and like everyone else, we were very impressed.
There are a number of features which make this charger so impressive, the first is the ability to have 4 different batteries of different types and capacities (eg AA & AAA, 1000mah AA & 2700mah AA). This means you can be charging your AA batteries at the same time as refreshing & analysing your AAA. Very handy and combined with being able to set charge rate and discharge rates for each of the four slots means that you can get the perfect rate for any battery, present or future.
The refresh analyse feature is tremendous, it takes all the effort out of keeping your batteries in tip top condition and also tells you the capacity after refreshing, invaluable for matching batteries. (using a flat battery with a fully charged is bad practice, the full battery tries to charge the flat leaving less power for the device, in certain battery chemistries it can even be dangerous).

Maha Powerex Imedion AA rechargeable batteries
Maha Powerex Imedion AA 2100mah rechargeable batteries. These are the new low self discharge (LSD) batteries similar to Eneloops but with a higher capacity (2100mah). LSD means they will not self discharge while laying idle as many rechargeable batteries do. This makes them very suitable for devices which need to be working when you require them such as GPS, NVG, cameras even remote controls. If your police station never has enough batteries for the GPS or camera, if your ADF unit is always buying new batteries for NVG or coms, or your household is tired of contributing to the 6 billion Energizer batteries alone (not counting other brands) which are thrown into landfill every year, this may be the solution for you. These batteries can potentially be recharged up to a 1,000 times. This is a solution which is good for the enviroment and good for your wallet.
A new technology breakthrough - MAHA's next generation of NiMH battery technology
Unlike traditional NiMH batteries, IMEDION batteries can be stored for an extended period of time without substantial loss of power, and are ready to use out-of-package. As the name suggests, the IMEDION batteries will be “ready immediately”.
A common problem with rechargeable batteries is that they need to be recharged about once every three months, even if they are not used. Maha tackled this issue by developing advanced electrode materials to reduce the rate of power loss during storage. As a result, the IMEDION batteries retain up to 85% of its charge even after one year of storage (at a room temperature of 20 deg C).

Modern Ni-MH batteries consist of two metal stripes ( anode and cathode ), which are separated by a non-conductive porous plastic foil ( separator ). These three stripes are laid on top of each other and are wound into a coil. This coil is placed in a metal jacket and immersed with a liquid ( electrolyte ). Then the metal jacket is sealed with a cap to form the battery cell.
The self discharge of Ni-MH batteries is caused by three main reasons:
* the chemical decomposition of the cathode
* the natural disaggregation of the anode
* Impurities of the anode
The chemical decomposition of the cathode has been reduced substantially by the use of an advanced NEW Technology that has been refined by MAHA.
As an additional benefit this technology increases the electrical capacity of the battery and reduces the internal resistance, which allows higher discharge currents than older NiMH Batteries.
Another advantage of the reduced decomposition of this alloy is the fact that less strategic metal is needed to stabilize the alloy.
The anode has been strengthened by another new material, which reduces the natural disaggregation.
Additionally, the separator and the electrolyte used have been optimized for low self discharge in Imedion batteries.
How do they compare to normal Powerex batteries?
The IMEDION batteries are available in 2100mAh capacity for AA. While 2100mAh is lower than the standard Powerex 2700mAh AA batteries, for devices that do not drain the batteries in less than a month, the IMEDION AA rechargeable batteries will provide a longer lasting solution.
Due to the low discharge characteristics of IMEDION batteries, they enable rechargeablle NiMH batteries to be used in low powered devices such as remote controls for the TV, DVD player, Stereo, Computer mouse, and XBOX controllers without the need for regular recharging.
Can I use any battery charger?
Imedion AA batteries are compatible with all Powerex Battery chargers. They will also work in other smart chargers. They are not recommended for timer chargers.
